After a Paris runway turn, the deconstructed General Scale lands in three colorways with clay-built soles and a surreal rollout.
Autry and Maison Mihara Yasuhiro are taking their runway moment to the street. First seen at Mihara’s Fall Winter 2025 show in Paris, the General Scale sneaker makes its global debut as part of the Broken Something capsule, a study in beautiful imperfection and sharp craft.
The foundation is Autry’s Medalist, kept clean up top to honor the original proportions. The twist is underfoot. Mihara’s signature clay modeled midsole and outsole arrive with sculpted edges and irregular lines that read handmade rather than factory smooth. The palette is direct and wearable, black, white, and a two tone mix, each pair finished by hand for a lived in look that works with tailoring as easily as denim.
Tokyo Fashion Week hosted the launch, and the campaign leans into the idea of fracture. The images are AI generated, a dreamscape of floating rocks and exposed terrain that strips away distraction and centers the shoe. It frames the sneaker as an object you actually want to use, not just collect.
Autry’s design history does not chase trends, and this collaboration does not either. The house speaks to permanence, and Autry’s team echoes that confidence while keeping the brand’s identity intact. The result is a sneaker that feels current without trying too hard.
