The upper uses lenticular materials so the shoe changes hue depending on how light hits it. The outsole is multicolored and dotted in a pattern that nods to early 2000s track spikes. Tomo’s signature flair shows up in the interchangeable Swooshes, one multicolor and another in black with ruffles, along with lace options that let you dial up or down the volume of the look.

It’s more than just aesthetic. Nike has positioned the shoe through athletes. Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, Masai Russell, and Arie Aoki are featured in the campaign. Their presence underscores what Tomo says the Air Superfly is for: powerful femininity, performance, and self expression.

The release dates are tight and strategic. Japan gets early access September 19 at Dover Street Market Ginza and select stores. Then the launch goes global September 20th via SNKRS and selected retailers.
