Andrew Jacobs is a New York–based photographer whose work focuses on fashion and editorial campaigns. He was raised in South Africa and relocated to the United States as a teenager.
He holds a degree in journalism, which he completed before turning to photography full time. Jacobs began by photographing friends in his social circle and then moved into commissioned work for independent fashion brands. Today his clients include names across the fashion sector such as J.Crew, Mansur Gavriel, Net-a-Porter, Noah, SSENSE and Uniqlo.
His visual work is described as grounded in colour and light with a focus on simplicity rather than overt ornament. Originally based in South Africa, his move as a teenager to the U.S. set the stage for his career in New York where he now works from his studio.
In recent years Jacobs continues to work across editorial, look-books, and brand campaigns. His website displays recent series and he remains listed with major talent agencies representing photographers in fashion and lifestyle fields.
