Dario Vitale

Dario Vitale has been appointed as the Chief Creative Officer of Versace, effective April 1, 2025. His appointment marks a historic transition, making him the first designer outside of the Versace family to helm the iconic brand.
Born in 1983 near Naples, Vitale’s ascent in the fashion industry has been characterized by a quiet yet profound influence. He is an alumnus of the prestigious Istituto Marangoni in Milan, graduating in 2006. His early career saw him honing his craft at Dsquared2 and Bottega Veneta under Tomas Maier, where he developed a deep understanding of Italian craftsmanship and luxury.
t was his nearly 15-year tenure at Miu Miu, however, that solidified Vitale’s reputation as a formidable design talent. Joining the Prada-owned brand in 2010, he rose to the position of Design and Image Director. Working closely with Miuccia Prada, Vitale was instrumental in shaping Miu Miu’s distinctive and highly successful aesthetic. He is credited with playing a pivotal role in some of the brand’s most viral moments—from the ubiquitous micro-mini skirts of Spring/Summer 2022 to the intellectual “librarian chic” of Autumn/Winter 2023. Vitale is known for his ability to blend modernity with heritage, crafting an aesthetic that is both refined and daring.
