Luke and Lucie Meier
Luke and Lucie Meier are a husband-and-wife design duo, most recently known for their tenure as co-creative directors of Jil Sander from 2017 until early 2025. During their time at the German house, they were credited with introducing a sense of warmth and personal craft to the brand’s traditionally austere minimalism. Their work balanced the label’s sharp silhouettes with a softer, more intimate approach to design.
The pair, who met while studying at Polimoda in Florence, brought distinct experiences to their collaboration. Lucie, who is Swiss, worked in senior design roles at Louis Vuitton and Balenciaga before serving as a co-interim creative director at Dior between the tenures of Raf Simons and Maria Grazia Chiuri. Luke, from Canada, was the design director at Supreme for eight years before co-founding the menswear label OAMC.
Their joint vision for Jil Sander was defined by this dual perspective. Lucie’s background in Parisian high fashion blended with Luke’s understanding of functional, subculture-inflected design. This resulted in collections that felt both disciplined and human, re-establishing Jil Sander’s relevance in contemporary luxury. While they have departed from the house, Luke continues to direct his brand OAMC, which is recognized for its mix of workwear influence and modern tailoring.
