Simone Bellotti
Simone Bellotti is the creative director of Jil Sander, a position he took in March 2025. His appointment followed a noteworthy period at the Swiss luxury brand Bally, where he was promoted from design director to creative director in 2023. At Bally, Bellotti was credited with clarifying the brand’s modern identity by mixing its heritage of craft with a wider set of cultural references.
Bellotti’s career is defined by extensive experience inside some of Italy’s most influential fashion houses. Before joining Bally, he spent 16 years at Gucci. There, he worked as a senior designer under two different creative eras, first with Frida Giannini and later with Alessandro Michele, developing a design approach that combines technical precision with a sense of poetry. His early career began in Antwerp at AF Vandevorst before he returned to Italy to hold design positions at Bottega Veneta, Dolce Gabbana, and Gianfranco Ferré.
Born in Giussano, Italy, in 1978, Bellotti brings a deep understanding of Italian luxury to Jil Sander. He succeeded Luke and Lucie Meier, who had directed the brand for six years. His debut collection for Spring 2026 was seen as an introduction to his vision, one that respects the architectural codes of the house while adding a more personal and at times humorous quality. Industry observers are watching to see how his particular mix of sensuality and discipline will guide the next chapter for the minimalist brand.
