The House introduces a ten-piece collection inspired by Le Dix, its first perfume from 1947, found after a fifteen-year archival search.

Summary
- Balenciaga is introducing a collection of 10 new fragrances, its first major olfactive statement in years.
- The packaging and concept create a dialogue between past and present, reproducing the original bottle design within Balenciaga’s modern industrial aesthetic.
More than 75 years after Cristóbal Balenciaga launched Le Dix, the House’s first perfume, a new fragrance collection has been introduced. The line of 10 perfumes is a direct conversation with the brand’s history, an effort that began with a 15-year search by House archivists for the original scent. The search ended with the rediscovery of a forgotten perfume bottle from 1947.
That bottle became the blueprint for the new collection. The flacons are a faithful reproduction of the original Le Dix design, complete with a glass globular cap and a hand-tied ribbon. The bottle has been scanned to match every detail and is refillable. The packaging uses modern industrial technology to give it the look of age, a patina meant to suggest the passage of time. This deliberately aged box, featuring the revived Le Dix logotype, is encased in Balenciaga’s signature industrial grey packaging. It is a physical representation of the project’s goal: to combine the past and the present.

The 10 individual perfumes are described as a clash between French parfumerie and new innovation, using heritage techniques alongside high-tech olfactive signatures. Each fragrance is intended to express an unexpected facet or duality. The colors of the juices inside the bottles reflect this idea of building intensity, moving along a spectrum from clear to smoke-tinted, and finally to an opaque, obsidian black.
The collection is made, sealed, and packaged in France. Sillages are said to expand and volumes to cocoon, creating a silhouette that surrounds the wearer rather than being worn on the skin.
The Balenciaga collection of fragrances will be available from September 10th at the Balenciaga Fragrance Store at 10 avenue George V in Paris. It will also be sold at select Balenciaga stores in Europe and North America and on balenciaga.com, before a progressive launch in the Middle East, Asia, and other locations worldwide.
