Dior Makeup has released a new product, the Rouge Dior On Stage lipstick, supported by a campaign starring Jenna Ortega. The lipstick provides a high-shine finish and is formulated for long-lasting wear, drawing inspiration from liquid lipstick formulas. According to the brand, it offers 24-hour hydration and uses “double shock avant-garde technology.” The formula works in two stages, first anchoring the pigment and then adding a layer of shine with a blend of oils.
Peter Philips, Creative and Image Director for Dior Makeup, created a new physical design for the product. The lipstick is presented in a redesigned midnight-blue case that is longer than the original and features a reversed CD logo. The shape of the lipstick itself is thin, intended to define lips with precision. “Although the formula is rich and creamy, you always maintain full control during application. The combination of this ultra-precise shape and this innovative formula guides you toward intuitive, effortless application,” Philips said in a press release.
“Whenever I apply someone’s lipstick, there’s this feeling of wow, of cool and sophistication, this empowerment, which is what I wanted to put in this new creation. Rouge Dior On Stage puts you where you’re meant to be: in the spotlight,” Philips added.
In visuals from director Gordon Von Steiner and photographer Oliver Hadlee Pearch, Ortega is seen on a red carpet. The brand stated the actor was selected for her modern feminine aesthetic. For the campaign, she wears the lipstick in shades 390 Redwood Star and 120 Iconic Rose. The complete line contains ten contemporary and classic shades. Ortega has mentioned that her personal favorite is 550 Red Shock.
