Independent features can apply for up to €250,000 from a €1.5 million fund. Entries close October 17 with decisions early 2026.

Fondazione Prada has opened submissions for the Fondazione Prada Film Fund, an annual program dedicated to independent cinema and presented during the Venice Production Bridge at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival.
The fund totals €1.5 million and builds on the foundation’s two decades of work in film. Submissions and full criteria are live on fondazioneprada.org and close October 17, 2025.
Miuccia Prada describes cinema as both an engine for new ideas and a tool for cultural education. The fund is meant to actively enable new work and extend the foundation’s long dialogue with contemporary experimentation.

Head of the program Paolo Moretti positions the initiative as a natural step from restorations and collaborations to direct support. The aim is to back artistically ambitious projects that often sit outside market logic.
Each year ten to twelve feature films will be selected with no restrictions on geography, theme, genre, or language. Support is available for development, production, and post, with selection based on quality, originality, and vision.
Grants of up to €250,000 will be awarded to the lead production company as targeted support to realize the film. Eligibility is limited to production companies that can demonstrate reliable resource management. Monitoring will cover financial transparency, production standards, and alignment with the approved proposal.

After a preliminary check of requirements, projects move through two phases of evaluation. Readers conduct the first review. An international committee of figures from film and culture makes the final selections. Announcements are expected between January and February 2026.
The program is developed by Paolo Moretti with project manager Rebecca De Pas, supported by an international circle of advisors including Violeta Bava, Paolo Bertolin, Émilie Bujès, Michelle Carey, and Claire Diao.
Submissions are open now on fondazioneprada.org. Apply by October 17 for up to €250,000, with ten to twelve features to be named in early 2026.
