Ralph Lauren’s most famous sweater star just went cinematic. The brand has released the trailer for “The Polo Bear Chronicles: Operation Black Tie,” a six-minute animated short film that puts the mascot in the middle of an art caper. The full film lands on YouTube Thursday, August 14.

The setup reads like a night out in the Ralph Lauren universe. A Manhattan townhouse, jazz on low, suits cut close. Our bear moves through galleries after hours, then on to brownstones, beach houses, and a polo match at a private estate. A streetwise pigeon keeps him company as the pair stage an art recovery in impeccable looks.

If you have worn the bear since college, this tracks. He has been part of the house since 1990 and long ago graduated from novelty to icon. Putting him on screen feels like the next chapter for a character that already carries the brand’s story on knits, watches, and archives.

Think of Operation Black Tie as a quick hit of the Ralph Lauren world, edited tight for the scroll. Watch the trailer now and circle August 14 for the full release.
