Summary
- Paul Smith and Artek launch a new limited-edition Stool 60
- The stool features legs in sky blue, rust, and racing green with a red underside
- The first Paul Smith x Artek stool is also back in stock
Paul Smith has once again turned his attention to Alvar Aalto’s iconic Stool 60. The British designer and the Finnish design house have unveiled a second edition of their collaboration, “Artek Reimagined by Paul Smith,” which puts a new spin on the three-legged classic.

For this edition, the stool retains its natural wood seat but adds a surprise detail: flip it over and the underside is finished in pillar-box red, a wink to the hidden linings of Paul Smith’s tailoring. The three bentwood legs each carry a different shade drawn from his 40-hue Signature Stripe, painted in sky blue, rust, and British racing green.

The result is both restrained and playful, a subtle evolution of a piece that has been a fixture of modernist interiors since 1933. It is also a continuation of the first Paul Smith x Artek collaboration, which sold out quickly and is now being reissued alongside the new edition.
Both stools are available through Paul Smith’s webstore, offering design enthusiasts another chance to collect a reimagined version of one of the most enduring silhouettes in 20th-century furniture.
