Alo is stepping into new territory with its first sneaker collaboration, enlisting NBA star Jimmy Butler to rework its Recovery Mode silhouette. The partnership puts the focus on performance recovery while leaning into a cleaner, more elevated look.
The Recovery Mode debuted last year as Alo’s first footwear style, designed with high-rebound foam insoles and abrasion-tested rubber soles built for balance and durability. Butler’s edition adds a subtle twist: a white vegan leather upper with a gum sole and embossed monogram overlays. The details nod to the brand’s logo-driven aesthetic without losing the shoe’s simplicity.
Butler, who signed with the Golden State Warriors this season, has been vocal about his off-court rituals. He says the Recovery Mode is the pair he pulls on after games, whether he’s making coffee, playing dominoes or spending time with family. “Being able to put my own spin on this shoe, I had fun doing it,” Butler said.
The Alo Recovery Mode x Jimmy Butler will release October 1 exclusively at Alo.com and at the brand’s Beverly Hills, Valley Fair, and Miami Design District locations.
