The Sliced Square ballerina arrives as a precise line through Givenchy’s Fall/Winter 2025 ready to wear by Sarah Burton. The season looked to Hubert de Givenchy’s 1950s couture archive, with dresses sliced to a micro length, revealing the body and bringing a sense of modernity to the style.
For the ballerina, the last is sliced at the front to create a sharp, modern silhouette.
As with the grosgrain belts cinching the waist of the cocktail and evening dresses, the elastic band across the foot emulates this gesture and draws parallels with the Givenchy Paris leather label.
