Daniel Lee links textiles and architecture as the collection moves through grand rooms and grounded tailoring.
Daniel Lee sets Burberry’s Winter 2025 campaign, ‘A Grand Escape,’ photographed by Sam Rock, in the kind of rooms that sparked the season, returning to fabrics and grand interiors as the through line. “We wanted to bring the collection to life,” says Lee, “and to tell the story behind all those incredible textiles.”
Shot in the drawing rooms and grounds of Thomas Ripley’s Palladian masterpiece, Wolterton Hall, the images echo the show’s source material. The cast brings together British actor Rupert Everett, model and artist Jeny Howorth, and Luther Ford, known for playing Prince Harry in The Crown, alongside models Lina Zhang, Assa Baradji, Tristan Watkins, Leon Keenan, and Iris Lasnet, who made her runway debut in Burberry’s Winter 2025 show.
Outerwear leads. Raincoats are amplified in shredded viscose blends, corduroy, and cropped embossed leathers. The new Ellingham car coat arrives with added volume. Quilted jackets come in a geranium print, and scarves with chunky fringes are built into jackets in shearling and alpaca blends.
Robes and jackets are reworked as softly tailored coats in cashmere and mohair wool, finished with chunky-knit shawl collars. Silk pajama shirts and trousers sit underneath. Velvet brocades, nodding to the designs of William Morris, are cut into equestrian-inspired coats and suits. Cross-stitched knitwear references historic tapestries.
Color grounds the collection in tapestry brown, deer taupe, punky red and yellow, alder, and maze green. Tartan-inspired wool checks appear beside the Burberry Check in intarsia leather. Savile Row tailoring meets country dressing as wool and corduroy suits pair with jodhpur trousers and pleated check kilts. Brushed wool shows up in rollnecks, ribbed sweaters, and joggers.
Evening pieces bring artisanal craft to the fore through velvet damask dresses and gathered silhouettes. Peacock prints are hand-cut to create a feathered effect.
Footwear and bags draw from richly furnished interiors and countryside shapes. Cavalier and Ledger boots are cut in embossed and intarsia leather, court-inspired pumps taper to pointed toes, and Cameo slippers arrive in quilted velvet. The new Bridle bag combines saddle curves with a top handle and reins-inspired hardware, while Highlands bags are weathered in intarsia check leather.
The campaign ties product and place into a single story, turning the house’s materials, cuts, and checks into scenes that mirror the hall they inhabit.
