The actor brings cool precision to Haider Ackermann’s first fragrance chapter at Tom Ford, lensed by Inez and Vinoodh.

Tilda Swinton is the face of Tom Ford Beauty’s Black Orchid Reserve, a new chapter for the house’s signature scent. The campaign was designed by creative director Haider Ackermann and shot by Inez and Vinoodh, with imagery that captures Swinton in deliberate, fluid motion. The roll-out starts September 1.
“It is a profound honour for me to play a part in the history of Tom Ford’s legendary Black Orchid,” Swinton says, a fitting line from an actor known for rigor and range.
Black Orchid Reserve deepens the original’s profile with an amplified Black Orchid accord and a phantom-like Ghost Orchid note. Expect ylang ylang lifted with timut pepper, plus roasted tonka, patchouli and amber in the drydown. The parfum arrives in multiple sizes, with pricing for the larger flacons sitting at the top end of the Tom Ford Beauty range.

The casting also signals the brand’s current era. Haider Ackermann, appointed creative director in 2024, is steering Tom Ford’s image across categories while The Estée Lauder Companies continues as sole owner of the brand.
Black Orchid was Tom Ford’s first fragrance in 2006 and has remained a pillar. Reserve reads as a concentrated, cinematic take on that story, with the Ghost Orchid captured via headspace technology to lock in the flower’s elusive scent.
