The brand’s new Rizon collection places unique, vintage sari textiles at the heart of an Italian leather jacket and reversible vest.

Summary
- Byredo’s new Rizon leather jacket and vest are defined by their linings, each made from a unique, repurposed Indian Kantha blanket.
- The exterior is a vegetable-tanned Italian calfskin designed to age and record wear, creating a piece that tells a story from the inside out.
- A reversible vest allows the vintage sari textile to be worn as the primary pattern, highlighting the collection’s focus on repurposed materials.
The most compelling part of Byredo’s new Rizon outerwear is on the inside. For its new leather jacket and vest, the brand has sourced vintage Kantha blankets, hand-quilted textiles made from old Indian saris. Because each blanket has its own history and pattern, every garment in the collection is fundamentally unique before it is ever worn.

This distinct lining is set within a jacket made of soft, vegetable-tanned calfskin from Italy. The leather itself is intended to change over time, showing marks of wear and developing a patina that documents the owner’s life. The silhouette is relaxed, with elongated sleeves. The concept pairs a material that arrives with a past (the sari lining) with one that is meant to record a future.

The collection also includes a vest that can be worn inside out. This reversible construction moves the patterned Kantha lining to the exterior, making the repurposed textile the central focus. Both the jacket and vest are made with custom brass zip-pullers, and the jacket’s sleeves have a silk lining.
The collection will be sold at select Byredo flagships and on its website starting September 23, 2025.
