The Stella McCartney Winter 2025 runway show featured something unexpected: a limited-edition Stella McCartney x Jeff Koons T-shirt. The collaboration marks a fresh chapter between two longtime friends who have crossed paths in fashion and art for over twenty years. It is kitsch and craft, pop culture reframed as luxury.
The organic cotton shirt puts Koons’s Untitled Girl with Dolphin and Monkey in conversation with McCartney’s Slippery When Wet, the slogan pulled from her 2001 Paris debut. The pairing feels both playful and provocative, tied together by a shared fondness for animals and an ongoing creative dialogue.
That dialogue stretches back to 2005, when the two first worked on a Rabbit pendant necklace, followed by prints in McCartney’s Summer 2006 collection.
