UNIQLO’s latest collaboration with Needles gives the brand’s familiar fleece a new context. Launching October 30, the three-piece collection blends UNIQLO’s straightforward design with Keizo Shimizu’s Tokyo-born sensibility, resulting in clothes that feel thoughtful, accessible, and distinct.
The lineup includes a full-zip jacket, an oversized cardigan, and wide-leg pants, all in Needles’ pared-back color palette of black, gray, beige, and purple. The jacket nods to vintage fleece outerwear from the 1970s, while the cardigan takes on both solid and striped variations, translating Needles’ signature pattern into UNIQLO’s framework. The pants have a straight, easy leg with tonal side stripes that recall the brand’s track-pant heritage. Together, they build a functional uniform that moves easily between casual and polished.

For Shimizu, the project is an extension of the ideas he’s been exploring since founding Needles in 1995. Known for subtle reinterpretations of Americana, his work with UNIQLO brings that same point of view to a global audience. By combining his butterfly emblem and tailored proportions with UNIQLO’s production clarity, the capsule stays true to both brands without overexplaining itself.

Sizing runs from XXS to XXL online and XS to XL in stores, covering a wide range of fits. The collection is available at UNIQLO’s 5th Avenue and Soho flagship stores in New York as well as online.
