On Sundsbø’s set, Venus Williams, Tilda Swinton, FKA twigs, Irina Shayk, and Isabella Rossellini anchor the 52nd Pirelli Calendar.

The Pirelli calendar returns for its 52nd edition, with Norwegian photographer Sølve Sundsbø behind the lens for 2026. The new portfolio draws on his taste for technique and mood, and it brings together a cast that cuts across fashion, art, sport, and film.

The lineup reads like a front row roll call. Tilda Swinton, Gwendoline Christie, Irina Shayk, FKA twigs, Venus Williams, Eva Herzigová, Susie Cave, Adria Arjona, Du Juan, Luisa Ranieri, and Isabella Rossellini all appear. Shoots took place in Norfolk, Essex, London, and New York City.

Sundsbo has set the tone with an idea that favors feeling over concept. He describes wanting to capture emotions and instincts central to life, including freedom, curiosity, and our connection with nature, time, and space. It is a broad canvas that suits a cast this varied.

The behind the scenes images hint at the visuals to come. Venus Williams reclines in front of flames. Isabella Rossellini poses amid vivid pink florals. Irina Shayk leans into the wind machine. There are underwater setups and forest scenes, plus studio drama that shows Sundsbø’s control of atmosphere.

The crew matches the scale of the project. Hair by Syd Hayes, Ali Pirzadeh, and Bob Recine, makeup by Val Garland and James Kaliardos, and styling by Jerry Stafford round out the team.

Pirelli has a habit of catching the culture at just the right moment. Launched in 1964, the calendar has cycled through defining photographers, from Norman Parkinson to Helmut Newton and Herb Ritts. In 2016, Annie Leibovitz shifted the frame by casting women from many fields. Last year’s edition, shot by Ethan James Green and starring talents like Hunter Schafer and Simone Ashley, brought back a more sensual register.
The finished images land later this year. For now, this first look shows craft, control, and cast chemistry, which is exactly what keeps Pirelli in the conversation each season.
