Jonathan Anderson is giving London’s Soho a new reason to stop and linger. His namesake store has reopened, and with it comes the launch of a collaboration that marries fashion, design, and craft. Partnering with Wedgwood, Anderson has helped revive a set of Lucie Rie’s unrealized 1964 teacup and saucer designs, produced now for the very first time.

The pieces, rendered in Wedgwood’s iconic Jasper blue with white inlays, are joined by a coffee cup and saucer, all handcrafted using the house’s time-tested methods. Alongside them are mugs in three bold pairings: Blue and Saxon Blue, Chocolate Brown and Black, and Canary Yellow and Mimosa Yellow. Each piece bears the mark of Wedgwood artisans, who shape and refine by hand before firing the clay to achieve its tactile matte finish.

For Anderson, the project is personal. “Lucie Rie is one of the greatest potters of the 20th century. I’ve been collecting her work for years, and I think she would be thrilled to see these pieces finally brought to life,” he says. Beyond aesthetics, the collaboration is tied to purpose. Proceeds will support the Lucie Rie and Hans Coper Foundation, which aims to digitize archives and create grants for academic and creative scholarship.
The collection will be available globally from September 19 through select Wedgwood and JW Anderson locations, including the reopened Soho flagship, Harrods, Selfridges, and online at both Wedgwood and JW Anderson.
