Soshi Otsuki secures the 2025 LVMH Prize, joined by Steve O Smith with the Karl Lagerfeld Prize and Torisheju with the Savoir Faire Prize.

Paris crowned a new name today. Soshi Otsuki, the designer behind Soshiotsuki, won the 2025 LVMH Prize, the industry’s bellwether award for emerging talent.
The afternoon ceremony gathered the eight finalists and a jury stacked with power players, including Phoebe Philo, Pharrell Williams, Stella McCartney, Jonathan Anderson, and first time juror Sarah Burton. Actor and ambassador Anna Sawai met with each finalist before the announcement.
Two more prizes rounded out the moment. Steve O Smith received the Karl Lagerfeld Prize, and Torishéju took the Savoir Faire Prize.

Winning the LVMH Prize comes with a 400,000 euro endowment and a year of tailored mentorship inside the group. The Karl Lagerfeld and Savoir Faire prizes each grant 200,000 euros plus mentorship, support that often proves as critical as the check.
Otsuki first made the LVMH shortlist in 2016 and has since cultivated a cult following for razor sharp tailoring that draws on Japanese references while speaking to modern dress.

This year’s finalists screened short films before the awards, a reminder that process and personality matter as much as product in 2025. As prize veteran Julie Gilhart noted, the class stands out for individuality and craft, a through line felt in the room and on the racks.
It is a big stage, and Otsuki stepped into it. Expect Soshiotsuki to scale with care, sharpen its signature suits, and test new categories as the mentorship kicks in. The runway will tell us the rest.
