At dawn Piccadilly already looked like a concert venue. Sneakers, coffee cups, and hushed excitement lined the pavement outside Dover Street Market as fans waited for wristbands to Verdy’s three-week Gift Shop, a takeover that stretches from the basement kiosk to a ground-floor installation.
Verdy, the Osaka graphic artist who began with self-published zines before launching the heartfelt Girls Don’t Cry and skate-driven Wasted Youth, has long turned personal passions into sought-after merch. Pharrell Williams and Nigo championed him early; Nike, Levi’s, and McDonald’s China followed suit. Stage visuals for Blackpink and an artistic-director turn at ComplexCon sealed his global reach. Now he brings that energy to London.
Step inside and Drop 1 feels bright and collectible. Vick-print tees made only for DSM sit beside a sofa-sized Visty plush ready for selfies. Limited pieces from Girls Don’t Cry, Wasted Youth, Capitana, and Verdy and Friends complete the launch. Once today’s stock sells out, any leftovers go live on the DSML e-shop Monday August 11.
Drop 2 lands August 14 with a soft-vinyl Visty dressed in a DSM tee, a three-way New Balance sneaker, Beats by Dre speaker holders, and more surprises. One week later, Drop 3 arrives August 21 bringing reworked vintage Nike soccer jerseys and a final wave of collectibles. Each drop is in-store first, then online only if supplies remain, and the Gift Shop closes August 27.
